Upper Peninsula author Sue Harrison will be sharing her children’s book, Rescuing Crash: The Good Dog, at the Alpena County George N. Fletcher Public Library on Saturday, September 13th, at 11 am. Geared towards ages 9-12, Rescuing Crash is the story of 11-year-old Britta, her father, and Crash, an Australian Shepherd adopted from the local animal shelter. Harrison explores the sadness and confusion of a child abandoned by a parent, the unique bonds between fathers and daughters, and the healing connections to be found in adopting a rescue animal.

Books will be available for purchase.

Sue Harrison is the author of seven critically acclaimed, bestselling novels, including the Ivory Carver Trilogy, the Storyteller Trilogy, and her first middle-grade novel, SISU. Her most recent novel is The Midwife’s Touch, published in 2023, and was named a 2024 Upper Peninsula Notable Book.  Sue lives in Pickford, Michigan, with her husband, a retired high school principal, and their mini-schnauzer, Tiffany.
