Rules and Submission Requirements:

1. The contest is open to all individuals. However, minors (under the age of 18) will need parental consent and a signature on the submission form.
2. Each contestant must submit a completed form with their piece for consideration by February 20, 2026, 7 PM EST.
3. The Commission reserves the right to extend all deadlines associated with this contest.
4. Contestants must submit a digital version, in JPEG, of their artwork along with the original (if applicable).
5. By signing the submission form, contestants agree that should their design be chosen as the winning logo in the contest, ASC is granted all ownership rights, including intellectual property rights to the logo.
6. Further, the ASC may alter, modify, or revise the winning logo as it sees fit to meet the needs of the commission.
7. Alpena County George N. Fletcher Public Library agrees to post all submissions on social media and in person a week after the deadline to give the public an opportunity to vote on their top 3 submissions.
   Voting will take place between February 21st and February 28th.
8. The Sestercentennial committee will announce the winner on March 2nd.
9. The winner will be highlighted on participating Sestercentennial organizations and businesses’ social media (if applicable).
10. The winner will be awarded a prize basket sponsored by local organizations.
11. Alpena County George N. Fletcher Public Library is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, or otherwise unusable entries, including entries that are lost or unusable due to computer, internet, or electronic problems.
12. Submissions may be submitted electronically, by mail, or in person, accompanied by the following contest entry form, and returned to:

Logo Design Guidelines and Parameters

1. Designs can be created digitally or traditionally with crayons, colored pencils, paint, oil pastels, or markers.
2. Designs must reproduce well in any size, black and white, and CMYK colors.
3. For quality reproduction purposes, the winning entry must later be submitted in scalable vector graphic format (EPS).
4. Designs must be the artist’s original work without the use of third-party images, including clipart or copyrighted graphics. Previously published or exhibited artwork is not permitted.
5. Designs deemed offensive, inappropriate, or violating the rules above will be disqualified.
6. Designs are encouraged to incorporate our shared national and local history, reflecting Alpena’s enduring spirit of stewardship and pride.
