HOW DOES THIS WORK?

Registration opens online June 10th on the READSquared website or app.  Program starts June 15th.  Physical registration opens at the library on June 15th.

How do I earn a prize?

300,000 minutes read by all participating by July 27th to win community prizes.  Personal prizes are given when the participating person meets individual reading goals or gains enough Book Bucks to redeem for prizes at the desk.

When can I pick up my prize?

Kids, tweens, teens and adults can pick up their prize during the finale on July 27th or during regular hours through August.

BOOKS BUCKS

Ages 0-17 gain this as currency through a variety of ways over the course of the Summer Reading Program.  

BOOK BUCKS CAN BE EARNED:

  • For signing up for the Summer Reading Program
  • For participating in the library’s summer youth programs
  • Meeting personal reading goals
  • for completing weekly Bingo challenges from the Youth Desk
  • Participating in Reading Buddies
  • And more!

Book Bucks can be spent by Youth at our Book Bucks Store during the Summer Reading Program Finale or during open store hours in August.

WHAT ARE THE COMMUNITY PRIZES?

Adult Prizes:

  • Event canopy for checkout
  • Yard Jenga for checkout
  • Adult ice cream social

Youth Prizes:

  • Ages 0-4 (pre-k): Bubble Party, Character Party, Prehistoric Party
  • Ages 5-8 (kids): Magic Show, Petting Zoo, Book Character Party
  • Ages 9-12 (tween): Nerf Gun War, Trivia Night, Life-sized Board Game Night
  • Ages 13-17 (teen): Escape Room, Cat Cafe, Teen Tea Party

Participants will vote for one community prize per age group.  The winning prize for each group will be scheduled or added to the collection.
